Vince’s parents came to the United States as political refugees shortly before Vince was born, and he grew up in New Jersey, just outside of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. His parents worked in restaurants all through his childhood, eventually saving enough money to open their own Chinese restaurant. Vince spent his teenage years working in his parents’ restaurant and learning the value of hard work, and eventually graduated college from Cedarville University in Ohio. After graduation, he received a full scholarship to attend law school at the Ohio State University. Vince had always aspired to a career where he could make a positive impact on the world around him, and receiving the scholarship enabled him to pursue a career in public service.
Throughout his adult life, Vince has demonstrated a passion for community involvement and mentoring. He met his wife, Alicia, while they were both in law school during a service day at a local Boys and Girls Club. Also during law school, Vince began mentoring a young boy (Jordin) through Big Brothers Big Sisters, and that relationship has continued to this day through Jordin’s graduation from high school and college, and the birth of Jordin’s first child. He has also been involved in mentoring through the Orange County Public Schools Lunch Buddies program, and the FAMU Law School mentoring program. He serves on the Executive Board of the Central Florida Family Law Inn, and is an active member of several other local bar associations including the George C. Young American Inn of Court, the Central Florida Association for Women Lawyers, the Paul C. Perkins Bar Association, and the Orange County Bar Association. Vince also serves on the Governance Board for H2O Church Orlando, where he has been an active member for over 13 years.
Since coming to Orlando in 2008, Vince and Alicia have seen their family expand to include their three young children (Katie, Sophia and Remick) and two dogs (Woody and Daisy). In his spare time, he enjoys camping, reading, cooking, strength training, playing guitar, and coaching Little League.
